Write for Professional Health Forum
Professional Health Forum exists so that people can read health information written by the professionals who deliver it, in language everyone can follow. If you are a registered health professional in Africa, we would like to hear from you.
Who we are looking for
We welcome registered professionals in practice or with recent practice experience:
- Pharmacists and pharmacy technologists
- Doctors and clinical officers
- Nurses and midwives
- Dietitians and nutritionists
- Physiotherapists and other therapists
- Medical laboratory scientists
What we publish
- Plain-English articles for the general public, usually 800 to 1,800 words.
- Our six condition hubs: Diabetes and Blood Sugar, Weight and GLP-1 Medicines, Men's Health, Heart and Blood Pressure, Women's Health, and Medicines and Safety.
- Practical, accurate information that reflects real practice in African settings, with references to reliable sources.
- No advertorials. We do not publish promotion of products, brands or clinics presented as health advice.
Your name on your work
Every article is published under your own name, with your profession and country, and links to your author page. This is how readers, and search engines, can see who is behind the advice.
Verification
Before we publish anything, we check your registration with the relevant professional council or regulatory body in your country. Please be ready to share your registration body and number. We use this only to verify you and do not publish the number. Please read our editorial policy to see how articles are sourced, reviewed and corrected.
How to apply
Email professionalhealthforum@gmail.com with:
- Your full name
- Your profession
- Your registration body and registration number
- Your country
- Your topic idea, in two or three sentences
We will reply to let you know whether the topic fits and what happens next.
Payment
We do not currently offer payment for articles, and we are not promising any. Contributors get a published, named article, an author page, and the chance to help the public understand their health better. If this changes, we will tell contributors clearly before any work is commissioned.
